LOOS & CO

For over 60 years, Loos & Co have been manufacturing cable and cable tools designed for the aerospace, scaffolding, military and marine industries.

The range includes portable and lightweight swagers and cable cutters, plus accurate tension gauges to take the guesswork out of tension adjustment; perfect for tuning sailboat rigging.

Founded in 1958, the American company is now part of Central Wire Industries Group of Companies and has over 50 years of experience in the industry.

In 1971 they acquired new equipment and started manufacturing wire rope and cable and in 1974 they became qualified to produce aircraft cable to the US government.

HAND SWAGER

Multi-compression hand swager with cable cutter. Swages and cuts steel wire from 1.5 mm to 5 mm. This tool is for copper and aluminum only.

BENCH SWAGER

For workshop/workbench jobs. Multi-compression jaws swage that can swage from 1.5 mm to 5 mm. Only to be used for copper and aluminium sleeves. Easy adjustment. Individual replacement parts are available.

HYDRAULIC HAND SWAGER

A few strokes of the handle brings the dies from wide open to contact with the fitting to be swaged. Then an internal valve automatically shifts from the low pressure pump stage to the high pressure compression stage. A relief valve prevents over-compression.

The Locoloc #3-H is a robust, hydraulic and mobile hand press with interchangeable dies. This hand press can be used for pressing welding sleeves from 6 mm to 12 mm. Supplied with six dies and a carrying case.

HYDRAULIC CABLE CUTTER

Portable, lightweight and made to last years under the toughest field conditions. These tools are made of high-grade steel with rubber handle grips and are black zinc oxide-coated to help reduce corrosion. A flip-top latch opens the jaw to easily accept cables and wires. The head can be rotated up to 180° to facilitate easy wire positioning and operator leverage.

Capacities:

  • Wire Rope16 mm

  • Soft Steel Bolts 16 mm

  • ChainDo not cut

TENSION GAUGES

Tension gauges take the guesswork out of cable tension adjustment. Designed for accurate, repeatable tuning of a sailboat’s standing rigging.

Manufactured of anodised aluminium, gauges are corrosion-resistant and will provide years of service. Available as standard and professional models.
