TYLASKA

Tylaska is an American company that has been manufacturing premium performance sailing hardware for over 25 years.

Their products, designed for every type of boat from dinghies to ocean racers, include snap and halyard shackles, plugfids and dog bones.

Tylaska shackles are used on boats competing in the America’s Cup and Volvo Ocean Race, setting the standard for modern vessels around the world.

Every snap shackle is made in Connecticut by Tylaska’s dedicated engineering team, offering the ultimate in holding power, performance and durability.

Pull testing to 50% of each shackle’s breaking strength and thorough inspection form part of the company’s strict testing procedures before each product hits the shelves.

TYLASKA SHACKLES

Tylaska shackles are perfect for applications requiring high strength and low weight. One handed operation, easy to open under tension, made in the USA. Available in different sizes as standard, large or clevis bail versions.

HALYARD SHACKLES

Tylaska halyard shackles have the highest strength-to-weight ratio of any existing halyard shackle on the market. A captive stainless pin makes for easy operation. The all-metal machined line thimble allows for use as a 2-1 purchase without wear or melting that occurs with plastic molded thimbles. Lines can also be permanently spliced for a fixed halyard.

FIDS AND DOG BONES

High tech, lightweight Tylaska fids are machined from solid aircraft aluminium and knurled for a more secure grip. An indispensable tool for fast, safe releases of lines under heavy loads.

Dog bones are convenient for attaching outhauls, the connection of soft loops used for attaching blocks to deck fittings and other rigging applications. Unlike a knot, dog bone connections don’t jam up under tension and can be quickly attached or detached. Available in eight sizes in aluminium or stainless depending on the strength requirements.
