RUDDERSAFE

Ruddersafe is a mount for outboard motors designed to improve steering during slow boat manoeuvring.

The construction consists of two folding blades mounted next to the propeller which help to keep the boat on course.

At low speeds, both blades fold down to improve steering with the outboard motor. At higher speeds, due to water pressure, the blades fold up to avoid any impact to the engine.

The Ruddersafe is available in six sizes as a standard version and an independent design specifically for Volvo Penta engines. The equipment is also suitable for stern and z-drives and spare parts are available for both models.

Originally made in Norway, On Deck BV purchased and patented this invention.

STANDARD RUDDERSAFE

The Ruddersafe improves the steering of the outboard motor during slow manoeuvring. The construction consists of two folding blades that are mounted next to the propeller.

Folded down, they help keep the boat on course, but at higher speeds they fold up so that they have no effect on the operation of the engine.

  • Optimal manoeuvrability

  • Reduced fuel consumption

  • Improved course stability

  • Protective function when reversing

  • Easy installation

  • Minimal maintenance

VOLVO PENTA RUDDERSAFE

The operation of the Volvo Penta Ruddersafe is exacatly the same as the Standard Ruddersafe other than the clamping mechanism.

This version it only suitable for the Volvo Penta engines.
